Former Winnipeg Jet, Jacob Trouba, has hinted at Blake Wheeler's injury being career-ending.

Blake Wheeler Faces Career-Ending Injury

In a recent game between the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens, Blake Wheeler suffered a severe injury, raising concerns about the future of his NHL career.
Reports reveal Wheeler is sidelined for the rest of the regular season and potentially the playoffs. He could make a miraculous return if the Rangers go on a deep playoff run.
Blake Wheeler is being placed on LTIR by the #NYR with a lower-body injury and won't return at all during the regular season. Even getting back for the playoffs is unlikely but will depend on his recovery and how far the team progresses.
At 36 years old, Wheeler's future in the league is now uncertain and he may have played his final game.

Jacob Trouba Shares Thoughts on Wheeler's Injury

Following the game, Rangers' captain Jacob Trouba commented on Wheeler's unfortunate situation. The two players had previously been teammates in Winnipeg before Trouba moved to New York.
Raw answer from Jacob Trouba on Blake Wheeler's injury. He stressed how much he's meant to him since their days in WPG.

«I'm not saying this is true, but maybe he played his last hockey game. It's emotional. It's something you think about. You don't take things for granted.»
We can now only wait and see if Wheeler is able to make a recovery to continue his career beyond this injury.
