This afternoon a new report from an NHL reporter Bruce Garrioch revealed that the Calgary Flames have set their asking price in a trade for Jacob Markstrom.
The Calgary Flames are on the verge of changing up their team dramatically. With young talent coming up the pipeline several veterans are expected to be moved out. The biggest name linked to trades is Jacob Markstrom after he requested a trade.
Jacob Markstrom wants out of Calgary, and recent reports indicate that trade talks are heating up with several teams including the Devils, Leafs, and Senators.
With Jacob Markstrom wanting out of Calgary the trade market for him is heating up. A new report from Ottawa Senators insider Bruce Garrioch has revealed the asking price from the Flames to give up Jacob Markstrom.
A league executive said they believe the Flames would likely be looking for a package that would include a first-round pick and high-end young prospect from the Senators in exchange Markstrom.
A first-round pick and a top prospect is a steep price to pay for a goaltender in his 30s. Whatever team ends up trading for him would need to ensure that they are competitive enough to give up those highly valued assets.
With the offseason just beginning there is plenty of time for trades to be made. As the NHL Draft approaches look for the trade chatter to heat up involving Jacob Markstrom finding a new home.
