Alexandar Georgiev has been pulled from two straight games, but after his second straight bad outing, Head Coach Jared Bednar confirmed confidence in him.

Through two games this season, the Colorado Avalanche have struggled mightily, and while injuries certainly haven't helped, there's been plenty of issues with the team that they have put on the ice. The biggest issue thus far for Colorado has been https://www.hockeyotb.com/nhl-team/colorado-avalanche/colorado-avalanche-claim-goalie-from-the-winnipeg-jets, and for the second straight night, the team have pulled their goaltender after a poor start.
From the outside looking in, despite being just two games into the season this could be a reason to panic for the Avalanche, but according to Head Coach Jared Bednar, Georgiev is still their guy moving forward, as he put plenty of support behind him in the post-game press conference.
"I get that there's a level of frustration, but (Georgiev), he's our guy, he's our starter, right? And I have full faith that he has the ability, the talent, (and) the work ethic to bounce back and win us hockey games. It's a mental game (for him) right now, right? So we'll regroup and then we have other areas ... that we have to get better at," Bednar said.
With an 0-2-0 start to the season and a whopping 14 goals allowed, the Avalanche certainly aren't in the spot they expected to be, and with Valeri Nichushkin, Jonathan Drouin, Gabriel Landeskog and Artturi Lehkonen all out of the lineup, things could be getting worse before they get better. Last season, Georgiev tallied an .897 save percentage on the year and was at an .898 in his final year before coming to Colorado, so the signs are definitely there that he could struggle, but for now, he remains the No. 1 in Colorado as they look to grab their first win of the season.
