Jared Bednar stands firm, refusing to abandon Alexandar Georgiev as the team's starter despite recent struggle

Through two games this season, the Colorado Avalanche have struggled mightily, and while injuries certainly haven't helped, there's been plenty of issues with the team that they have put on the ice. From the outside looking in, despite being just two games into the season this could be a reason to panic for the Avalanche, but according to Head Coach Jared Bednar, Georgiev is still their guy moving forward, as he put plenty of support behind him in the post-game press conference.

With an 0-2-0 start to the season and a whopping 14 goals allowed, the Avalanche certainly aren't in the spot they expected to be, and with Valeri Nichushkin, Jonathan Drouin, Gabriel Landeskog and Artturi Lehkonen all out of the lineup, things could be getting worse before they get better. Last season, Georgiev tallied an .897 save percentage on the year and was at an .898 in his final year before coming to Colorado, so the signs are definitely there that he could struggle, but for now, he remains the No. 1 in Colorado as they look to grab their first win of the season.
