Corey Perry was found in violation of an NHL rule in the game against the Flames goaltender Dan Vladar which could have led to their third loss of the season.

During the game against the Calgary Flames yesterday, the Oilers were up 1-0 and about to take a 2-0 lead into the end of the first period when a goal that was scored was deemed overturned because of Corey Perry. He was called for goaltender interference against Dan Vladar during this play.
Looking at the goal from another point of view, it clearly looks like Perry left the crease allowing for the goal to be scored without any interference.
It does appear that Perry, although starting in the crease, was able to move away from Vladar in time and the overhead shot looks like this was not a case of interference. According to Frank Seravalli, the NHL overruled the goal call on the ice, citing Rule 69.1 - Goals should be disallowed if the player either by position or contact impedes the goalies ability to move freely in the crease.
After this call and disallowed goal, Edmonton remained off the scoresheet, with the Flames winning the game 4-1. Perry's reaction to the no goal call was captured during the game, obviously showing his disapproval after a very lengthy review.
The Oilers have not started this season off like the Stanley Cup finalists from last year. Perry, who already voiced his opinion on the Oilers play against the Blackhawks, was once again the center of controversy with this call. The Oilers have not been able to find the net this year, being outscored 15-3 in three games.
To add to the Oilers woes this year, this was not even the only goal that was called back in the game. In the second it looked like Derek Ryan was able to retake the lead when the goal was called back for offsides.
Perry, now at 39 years old, remained an Oiler for another year after there was so speculation he was going to retire. This season he has a bottom six role on the team, and so far, appears to be making a lot of noise that is not positive for Edmonton.
