Potential name reveal coming for Utah NHL team

Per Pierre Lebrun on X, the naming process of the newly founded team in Salt Lake City will not be rushed. The team seems quite adamant to get the name right. There is a possibility they go a season without a name. The sport world has seen this before as the Washington Football Team stuck for two seasons before they turned into the Washington Commanders.

Ryan Smith won't rush into a new team name. It will be Utah as opposed to Salt Lake City in the team name, that much has been decided. According to X user, Greg Wyshynski, there is already a plan for the team name and there is movement towards team colours as well. If branding is not a pressing matter for the franchise, being a contending team looks to be high on their priority list. This years free agency class looks to be one for the books, being headlined by 60 goal scorer and 50 goal scorers respectively, Steven Stamkos and Sam Reinhart. These two players and many others could look to bring winning back into this Arizona Coyotes franchise that has not made the playoffs since 2020 when they lost out in the first round.
