Both of those games came with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2022-23 season. In those contests, he failed to record a point and went a -2. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury that eventually saw him demoted to the AHL as he tried to rehab it that season. After six games though it became clear to him that he was not going to get called back up so he was loaned to EHC Biel-Bienne of the Swiss league where he appeared in 12 games and recorded 7 points, including 3 goals.
Sadly, that was the last time the veteran came close to playing a full season. Of course, he is better known for his time with the Detroit Red Wings, where he spent half his career before becoming a journeyman in the league. He would go on to appear in games for six different clubs, highlighted by the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he got into 122 games. He collected 74 goals and 194 points throughout his career as a defensive specialist. He certainly did not have the most exciting career in the world, but players like Sheahan make the NHL work as the superstars can't do everything themselves.
While he never won a Stanley Cup, he did win a Calder Cup with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL in the 2012-13 season where he appeared in all 72 regular-season games and all 24 playoff games as well, posting a combined total of 19 goals and 52 points.
