In the summer of August 2021, the Edmonton Oilers locked up Jack Campbell to a 5 year 25M dollar in hopes of finally finding their number one goalie. It hasn't been easy for Campbell at the Oilers, who has currently spent most of his season in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors with still two years left on his unmovable deal.

Eastern Conference team showing interest in Jack Campbell

It was reported that the Philadelphia Flyers have shown interest in the possibility of adding Jack Campbell to their goalie fold. It makes sense, with Carter Hart being out indefinitely amid his criminal charges from the world junior incident. It was also announced by the NHL, that the Flyers would not have Carter Hart's contract under their salary cap, giving them an extra 5M in cap space.

It's clear that Daniel Briere would call Ken Holland and would want assets along with Campbell for taking on that brutal contract. Ken Holland should consider as getting rid of Campbell would potentially free up to 5M dollars in cap space ahead of the NHL trade deadline.
More details to come.
