The Edmonton Oilers' CEO of Operations, Jeff Jackson, announced who will be the temporary acting general manager while they look for Ken Holland's replacement.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that the Oilers would part ways with Ken Holland at the end of his current contract. The Oilers' CEO, Jeff Jackson, held a press conference to talk about his team's situation a day before the NHL Draft.
He addressed many interesting topics, including Ken Holland's replacement, Leon Draisaitl's extension, the question of buying out Jack Campbell's contract, and how the team remains in a "win-now mode":
"We're going to look at any way we can to improve the team, even if it's by a small amount."

Jeff Jackson speaks to the media about the future following the announcement that Ken Holland will not return as GM & President of Hockey Operations."
"I don't plan on being the GM long term. I will be hiring someone, but I don't have a timeline for it. It is, obviously, a priority," Jackson #Oilers
"We are in win-now mode and that isn't going to change. We are clearly close. We want to continue to integrate younger guys into the lineup, but I'm not concerned about the age of guys, if they are 32-34 and they are still contributing, I'm okay with that," Jackson #Oilers"
"We are looking at every option, including Jack. We aren't planning that (buyout), but we are considering it," Jackson on Jack Campbell.

"We need to have our GM, before we get into the meat of that (Draisaitl contract extension). I'm assuming they (Draisaitl's camp) will want to know who the GM is and what their plan is," Jackson #Oilers"
The Oilers have a long way to go before reaching the Stanley Cup Finals again, but this summer will be critical for the team's future.
Hiring a general manager is a key decision in the process that could make or break the Oilers' chances of finally winning a Stanley Cup.
