The 2023-24 campaign was a rollercoaster for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and after so much optimism, it all fell in a heap when the team lost a dramatic Game 7 to the Boston Bruins. Since that point, Mitch Marner trade talks have continued seemingly every day, with most believing that the team will opt to move the veteran forward a year ahead of unrestricted free agency.
Now however, things may be changing, as former NHLer turned media personality Paul Bissonnette dropped a major update on the contract situation;
In the regular season, Marner remains one of the most consistent forwards in the entire NHL, but in the playoffs, one can't help but overlook the continued poor performances. With the team looking to make a push for the Stanley Cup under new Head Coach Craig Berube, they need to make a major move, so whether it's extending him and adding more talent around the Core Four or trading him, something huge will happen in Toronto soon.
