The Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander got injured last night in the preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens because of Nick Robertson.

New head coach Craig Berube had cause to celebrate last night as he earned his first victory with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He led his team to a 2-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens, who didn't send any of their best players on the ice in Toronto.
Despite the massive discrepancy in talent on the ice, the Leafs had to compete for most of the evening without William Nylander, who had to leave the game after a collision with the Habs' Christian Dvorak.
Dvorak, however, has nothing to worry about, as it wasn't his fault. He was simply skating towards the action when Nylander collided with him. The Leafs' Swedish star had been pushed by Nick Robertson, his teammate, right onto Dvorak before retreating to the locker room.
Check out how it went down:
Paul Bissonnette shared his take on all this, saying that a lot of players do that to give their teammates a boost going into the backcheck. He also added that Robertson felt terrible after the incident in a post on X:
Robertson had a great game last night, despite causing an injury to one of the Leafs' best players.
He scored this great goal, proving that he's ready to compete and perform in the NHL:
However, it didn't stop Sportsnet's analyst Nick Kypreos from lashing out at Robertson for what he did to Nylander.
Watch the following video to see what Kypreos said about him:
Many things will be interesting to monitor going into the next preseason games. In addition to keeping an eye out for any updates on William Nylander's health, we'll also see if Nicholas Robertson continues to perform well to force Craig Berube to add him to the lineup on opening night.
