The Winnipeg Jets are making an unexpected coaching change this offseason after the retirement of Rick Bowness. A new report from Elliotte Friedman has confirmed one of the candidates.

Elliotte Friedman has been busy at work trying to determine which head coaching positions will be filled by which coaches. Today was the turn of the Winnipeg Jets according to Elliotte Friedman's report they are expected to be interested in former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe.
It wouldn't be a surprise if the Winnipeg Jets wanted to talk to Sheldon Keefe.

While the Winnipeg Jets are expected to have interest they will not be the only ones. The New Jersey Devils have already received permission from the Toronto Maple Leafs to speak with Sheldon Keefe this week.

With the competition to land Sheldon Keefe already heating up the Winnipeg Jets might want to get in the race sooner rather than later. With a group that is infusing youth into the lineup a coach like Sheldon Keefe who is known for being more laid back and focused on communication could be perfect.
