After suspicions that the star goaltender was injured, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel revealed why Connor Hellebuyck was absent from practice.

Connor Hellebuyck is undoubtedly one of the most talented goaltenders in the NHL and one of the most integral parts of the Winnipeg Jets. However, fans grew concerned that the two-time Vezina Trophy winner was injured after he was noticeably absent from their last practice ahead of their first regular season game.
Thankfully for the team, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arneil shared that the goaltender was not injured and is expected to be available for the full season. Hellebuyck is, however, dealing with a family matter that could prevent his ability to join the prior practice. He is still expected to travel with the team to Edmonton in anticipation of their season opener.
The Winnipeg Jets will play their first NHL 2024-25 regular season on Wednesday, October 9th against the Edmonton Oilers. Though he may not be part of any upcoming practices, we can still expect to see Connor Hellebuyck giving it his all against a playoff-contending team. Regardless, we hope you can join us in wishing the best for the goaltender and his family through these difficult times.
