Colby Barlow is one of the top prospects of the Winnipeg Jets, and he has just been traded in the OHL from the Owen Sound Attack to the Oshawa Generals.

It's been a rough offseason for the Winnipeg Jets when it came to top prospects, first with Rutger McGroarty, and now, reportedly, another of their top young talents has just received a change of scenery. Colby Barlow, one of the brightest OHL stars in the organization, appears to be heading to the Oshawa Generals after he held out for a trade following a decision that he no longer wanted to stay with the Owen Sound Attack, a team he has played for over the past three seasons.
According to Post Media's Greg Cowan, Barlow had asked the Attack's general manager for a move and refused to return to the club after the Jets reassigned him to junior hockey. The 19-year-old forward put up strong numbers last season, netting 40 goals and 58 points in 50 games, but he was seeking a new beginning elsewhere.
Cowan also reported that Owen Sound's GM Dale DeGray fielded considerable interest since the request became public over the weekend. Entering what might be his final season of junior hockey before embarking on the NHL, finding the right fit could set Barlow up for major success, and he is hoping that will be the case in Oshawa. His lethal scoring ability had him as a hot commodity, and reportedly the Jets are banking on his continued development with his new team now.
