Life-threatening news given to young hockey player

Tobias Eder is a German pro hockey player for the Berlin Polar Bears in the DEL, and has just received the unfortunate news that he has a malignant tumor.
The hockey leagues in Germany have already begun their training camps and players have been reporting for their routine tests. Unfortunately for one player in the DEL league, they received some very shattering news. Tobias Eder has just been told that doctors found a malignant tumor and that he will need immediate treatment.
The 26-year-old German player spent his whole career overseas in Germany and last season was his first with the Polar Bears, where he guided them to the league championship win. Tobias Eder has also represented his country of Germany at the IIHF World Championship last spring.
During some routine testing that all players do prior to the start of a season, one of the doctors found a malignant tumor and said that Tobias Eder was seriously ill and would need urgent treatment.
"Tobias Eder, striker for the Eisbären Berlin, is seriously ill. During the sports medical examinations prior to the new season, the forward was diagnosed with a malignant tumor, which requires immediate treatment. Eder has already begun medical treatment.

This was no doubt a shock for all of Tobias Eder's friends, family, teammates and also the fans. It appears that Tobias Eder had no warning signs that anything was wrong, so here's hoping his tumor was caught in the very early stages and that he will be able to receive quick treatment and recover.
Tobias Eder played in 52 games with the Berlin Polar Bears last season and had a total of 22 goals and 31 points. The entire German hockey community will be rallying around Tobias Eder and everyone around the world will also be cheering him on during his fight to beat this terrible illness.
