This year's Stanley Cup Finals have been some of the most intriguing to watch. What started as a sure thing for Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky quickly turned sour after letting 5 goals through in 18 shots by the Edmonton Oilers, resulting in his pull.
After Florida quickly lost footing only holding the series 3-2, the Panthers were forced to take the long trip back to Rogers Place in Edmonton for Game 6. However, Bobrovsky quickly learned that Oilers fans have not forgotten about his recent fall from grace. These audience members chanted the goaltender's name during the US National Anthem in a wild display of disrespect to the team.
Clearly, this got under Panthers fans and players who were hoping to close out the series tonight. Unfortunately, they could not pull it off and lost to the Oilers 5-1. Edmonton is now the second NHL team in history to come back from a 3-0 deficit and force a Game 7. They will have their chance to pull off a reverse sweep Monday night.
After another brutal loss to Edmonton, Florida is looking for a miracle. Hopefully for Bobrovsky, the home-ice advantage is enough to secure a victory. If not, Lord Staley will finally make his long-awaited return to Canada.
