Today a new report from The Athletic has indicated if Trevor Zegras is traded he prefers to be sent to the New York Rangers.
For months the Anaheim Ducks have been in the news related to a Trevor Zegras trade. Ducks GM Pat Verbeek seems to be committed to finding him a new potential home this summer.
The relationship between Trevor Zegras and the Anaheim Ducks seems to have reached an all-time low. With the skill and offensive upside that Trevor Zegras has a trade seems like the most likely outcome. Now today a new report has listed a potential favorite to land the young forward.
Trevor Zegras prefers to land in New York if traded by the Anaheim Ducks
A report from Peter Baugh of The Athletic has indicated that Trevor Zegras wants to play with the New York Rangers. He has a relationship with several players on the team including veteran forward Chris Kreider.
What we can say is that Zegras, who trains in the offseason at Prentiss Hockey Performance alongside Chris Kreider, has had the Rangers as his ideal destination for a long time. Ducks GM Pat Verbeek has had some decent interest from at least one team believed to be the Flyers but is asking for a very expensive return for Zegras, who had an injury-plagued 2023-24 and finished with 15 points in 31 games. Baugh said.
Trevor Zegras would add yet another young offensive talent to the New York Rangers potentially pairing with Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko. The American winger would bring skill and flash that is missing from the Rangers lineup beyond players like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad.
As the summer continues to move along it remains to be seen if Pat Verbeek and the Anaheim Ducks will actually trade Trevor Zegras but if they do watch for the New York Rangers to be a favorite to land him.
