The NHL is full of physicality, but unfortunately, there are plenty of players that take those actions too far, and ultimately, that leads to consequences.
A few weeks ago, Calgary Flames star Rasmus Andersson did exactly that when he took a cheap shot at the Columbus Blue Jackets' Patrik Laine at the end of the game, ultimately costing him several games due to suspension.
It's also cost Laine plenty of time too, as the head shot is something that can't be taken lightly these days, and it's safe to say that the star forward hasn't forgotten about it.
Patrik Laine Threatens Revenge on the Flames defenseman
When asked about getting healthy and getting back on the ice after the hit, Laine kept it sweet and simple, promising that he'll be prepared for the Jackets trip to Calgary in January.
Patrik Laine said the hit that took him out of the lineup -- and led to a suspension for Calgary's Rasmus Andersson -- was "unnecessary."
Laine: "The only thing I have to say, I'm pretty excited to play him in January. I'll just leave it at that." #CBJ
Laine may not be one of the tougher players in the NHL, but he comes with plenty of size, and now, this game became even more must-see on top of Johnny Gaudreau's second return to his former team.
