During the regular season, the Vancouver Canucks pulled all the right strings, picking up the likes of Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, and while they picked up Ilya Mikheyev the summer before, he played his role well. In two seasons with the Canucks, the 29-year old Mikheyev tallied 28 and 31 points, but now the five-year veteran is seemingly on his way out.
According to Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff, Mikheyev is on the trade block this summer, and was seemingly available at the deadline too.
The veteran winger has two years remaining on his currently deal, with the AAV coming in at $4.75 million, and according to reports, other teams are looking for the Canucks to throw in another asset to take on his deal. It's unclear how robust his market will be this summer, with the likes of Mitch Marner expected to be the top name available, but there will no doubt be some teams interested.
The Canucks are also set to move on from Lindholm and Zadorov, so if they can move Mikheyev, it's safe to say that the team will look significantly different in 2024-25 as they aim to chase the Stanley Cup.
