Only a few months after finally making his NHL debut, Cutter Gautheir and the Anaheim Ducks face a PR crisis after making an inappropriate comment directed at women.

Cutter Gauthier had a highly unusual start with the NHL. After being drafted fifth overall in the 2022 Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, he could not settle in with the team and refused to sign. He was traded away to the Anaheim Ducks for Jamie Drysdale and a 2nd round pick in next year's draft, though not without a hitch. After both players received excessive vitriol, John Tortorella flamed those who antagonized Kevin Hayes, who people incorrectly believed was involved in the trade.
"🗣️'Is the guy here that caused Kevin Hayes a problem?'

John Tortorella rips into the reporter that started the Kevin Hayes rumors on his rift with prospect Cutter Gauthier.

Gauthier was traded to Ducks this week."
Now, after finally playing his first game in the league with Anaheim this past April, Cutter Gauthier has found himself in trouble. The Ducks filmed a meet-the-player interview with Gauthier in which they asked him various questions about his personal life. However, when they asked him about his coffee order, he slipped in an inappropriate comment directed toward women.
"Oh, I'm a chick when it comes to that stuff. I'll go iced caramel macchiato."
This, naturally, did not go over well with every audience. Though it appeared pretty clear that Gauthier did not intend to offend people with his remarks, some fans did not care and flamed him.
Though Cutter should probably take a little more time to think before he speaks on the record, he did not personally release nor edit the interview. The Anaheim Ducks PR team is ultimately to blame for leaving this inappropriate comment in the video. Regardless, the team appears to be keeping him more focused on preparing for the upcoming season, and less on discipline. Hopefully, the blowback from this slip-up is enough to prevent it from reoccurring.
