It's no secret that hockey is one of the toughest sports on earth, as not only do players need to avoid other players travelling at immense speed, skates and sticks, but the puck as well, and anyone that has played the sport will tell you that they hurt quite a bit. Unfortunately, Anaheim Ducks star Trevor Zegras found that out at practice, as he was reportedly struck in the face by a puck, being helped off the ice after the scary situation.
It's not been clarified yet which part of the face the puck struck him in, as that could be crucial to his recovery and how quick he can get back on the ice, but given how fast the puck can travel, it's not a good situation for the 23-year old star. This reportedly happened on a routine play, showing that it's dangerous to be on the ice at any point, and given that Zegras played in just 31 games a season ago because of injury, this is a brutal bit of bad luck.
When he's healthy, Zegras is one of the NHL's most exciting players, so we hope he can get back on the ice in time for the season opener, because he's not only crucial to the Ducks hopes this season, but he is can't miss TV when he's at his very best.
