The Arizona Coyotes have been relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, but this has not stopped Governor, Alex Meruelo, from trying to keep hockey in the desert.

Chairman and Governor of the Arizona Coyotes, Alex Meruelo, has released plans to have the team back in the desert within the next half a decade. Meruelo said this in a statement released Thursday afternoon,
"But this is not the end for hockey in Arizona. I have negotiated the right to reactivate the team within the next five years, and have retained the beloved Coyotes' name, brand and logo."

Meruelo also goes on the talk about his continued commitment to the community and a new facility. This is what was said in his statement,
"I remain committed to the community and to building a first-class sports arena and entertainment district without seeking financial support from the public."
