Several key players will sit out the final game of the 2023-24 regular season for the Winnipeg Jets, while another member of the team will suit up for his 83rd game.

Winnipeg Jets coach Rick Bowness has decided to let several members of the team sit out the final game of the 2023-24 regular season against the Vancouver Canucks tonight as he tries to ensure everyone is ready and at their best for the playoffs. At the same time, one member of the Jets will be in the lineup for his 83rd game of the season, a feat that can only be accomplished by playing for two teams.
Sitting out tonight are Connor Hellebuyck, Josh Morrissey, Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry, Brenden Dillon, Kyle Connor, and Adam Lowry. Veteran Sean Monahan will play, and it will make his 83rd game in 2023-24.
"Multiple Jets players will take the night off, including Connor Hellebuyck, Josh Morrissey, Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry, Brenden Dillon, and Kyle Connor.

You'll note that Sean Monahan's name is not among those listed.

Monahan is set to play Game 83 of his season tonight."
It's also been noted that Morgan Barron won't play tonight as he deals with an injury.
"The players not playing for the #NHLJets tonight:

Josh Morrissey, Brenden Dillon, Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, Vladislav Namestnikov, and Adam Lowry.

Morgan Barron won't play either, he is injured.

Colin Delia backs up Laurent Brossoit."
The Winnipeg Jets will face the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, a team they defeated 7-0 just two games ago. That win also gave the Jets home ice advantage for the series.
Rick Bowness has said previously that sitting players to prepare the playoffs is not something he likes to do as a coach. However, despite the outcome of the last game, the Winnipeg-Colorado series should be a hard fought one, and Bowness clearly wants his best players to play like his best players.
