Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand will miss Game 5 against the Florida Panthers with an injury.
Brad Marchand is out for Game 5 vs. the Panthers
Since that nasty hit from Sam Bennett in Game 3, Marchand's been nursing some pain. He had to bow out of Game 4 because of it, but fans were crossing their fingers when he hit the ice for practice this morning.
Yet reports from Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic confirm that Marchand won't be lacing up for tonight's game.
It seems like Marchand's following in the footsteps of Auston Matthews from the Leafs, hitting the ice for practice but sitting out when the puck drops. Yet, if the series goes beyond Game 5, there might still be hope for Marchand's return.
For now, the Bruins will have to tackle this must-win game and save themselves from being eliminated by the cats for a second straight year without their captain.
