Insider reveals Jeremy Swayman's plan to turn down the Boston Bruins latest contract offer

The Boston Bruins have been trying to get a deal done with Jeremy Swayman all off-season long, but now the goaltender will reportedly turn down their latest offer.
Despite the expectation that Jeremy Swayman would sign a long-term extension in Boston this summer, it just hasn't happened yet, and recently, we've found out the numbers that both sides are looking at. Recently, it was revealed that while the Bruins had moved up from $6.5 million to $7.8, Swayman's camp is holding strong at at least $8.5 million.
However, insider Elliotte Friedman believes that may not be the case, as he revealed his opinion on where Swayman is truly at.
«His initial stake in the ground was Charlie McAvoy: 8 x $9.5 (million). It is harder to figure out where Swayman is, but I do believe he's come down.»

With the offer of $7.8 million AAV over eight years remaining on the table, there's always the possibility that Swayman takes that money and is back in net for Boston in the near future, but Friedman has his doubts about that too.

Things are reportedly getting very tense in Boston, and with the idea of Joonas Korpisalo starting in net for the beginning of the season, the team want to get this done, but if Swayman turns down the latest offer, we could be in for chaos in the Bruins organization.
