Tij Iginla, the son of Flames' legend Jarome Iginla, opened up in a recent interview about the possibility of being drafted by Calgary, following in his dad's footsteps.

With the NHL draft in less than a month, there's a lot of speculation about who'll get drafted after Macklin Celebrini. Many interesting prospects such as Anton Silayev, Cayden Lindstrom, Ivan Demidov, Sam Dickinson, or Artyom Levshunov should be taken next, but the order remains to be seen.
After those picks, another prospect could be a very intriguing option for NHL teams: Tij Iginla, son of legendary NHLer Jarome Iginla.
Tij, 17, impressed a lot of people with his performances at the U18 World Championship, scoring 12 points in seven games.
Nothing guarantees that he'll be taken in the top 10, but the Calgary Flames are picking at the 9th spot, and Iginla seems very interested in playing where his father had so much success:
"It sounds like it would be a lot of fun and would be a cool opportunity. Obviously, I don't know exactly how things are going to shake out, and I'm going to try not to speculate too much, but I know they are there and at pick nine or whatever it is, and I guess we will have to see how it goes, but that would definitely be pretty cool."

He also opened up about the fact that he'll need to work hard before reaching his father's marks.
"Yeah maybe a little bit, but he had a pretty strong career so the draft only means so much," he said. "I'll have to start chipping away at those achievements if I want those bragging rights."
There's very little doubt that Tij Iginla will become a great player in the NHL. He's very mature, well-supervised (to say the least), has a great personality, and is talented.
Do you think the Calgary Flames will draft Tij Iginla with the 9th overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft?
