It appears Martin Necas will start the 2024-25 season with the Carolina Hurricanes, according to GM Eric Tulsky.

Tulsky on Necas: "As of right now he's an RFA with us, headed for arbitration where he'll get either a 1 or 2 year contract. And he'll play for us. If something happens between now and then, then that'll happen. But right now that's what I'd assume.
Entering the offseason, it seemed almost certain that Necas would be leaving the Hurricanes after the NHL draft. He requested a trade after the team was eliminated by the New York Rangers in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
I'll be very surprised if Martin Necas plays for Carolina in the next season. As his dad said, Martin wants to play in 1st line & 1st PP unit. His dad even said in an interview for @DenikSport: ,,Martin wants to be traded.» In my eyes, Necas is a great offensive winger.

But we are here in July and he wasn't moved. So he's sticking around, and he knows it, recently filing for arbitration.
Hearing that RFA, Martin Necas is setting himself up for a 1-2 year deal post arbitration which is a 3rd party source finding the median of league price and team price of the player, so expect Martin Necas to be playing for the Carolina Hurricanes for the 2024-2025 season. 🌀
The Canes are being smart about this, making sure they get the best possible return if they decide to let him go.
