It would be an understatement to say that the Stars' performance last night was embarrassing.
Not even 3 minutes into the game and Jamie Benn was removed for a brutal cross check which gifted the knights a 5 minute power play in which they capitalized and managed to score a goal giving them a very early 2 point lead which pretty much sealed the Stars' fate.
Possibly even more embarrassing than this though, is the fanbases reaction to these events.
Shortly after the Knights score their 3rd goal, the crowd began tossing their garbage onto the ice and even going as far as pouring food over Adin Hill, the goalie for the Knights.
Stars Acknowledge Poor Behaviour Displayed By Fans
Naturally, this disgusting behaviour displayed by the fans was followed by a prompt apology from Dallas extended towards the Knights, where Dallas themselves acknowledge that the actions of their fanbase were unacceptable:
Hockey Fans Should Know Better
Hockey is a sport that is loved by many and it's understandable that a fanbase may be disappointed in the outcome of a game, especially in the playoffs, but theres always lines that shouldn't be crossed and tossing garbage on to the ice is one of them. It's extremely disrespectful and hockey fans should know better and act better.
