Montgomery: The Bruins have released Alex Chiasson from his PTO.
Chiasson was given a PTO from the Bruins earlier this offseason but failed to impress and has not earned a spot out of training camp.
He played with the Oilers from 2018 to 2021 having a 22-goal campaign in 2018-19. Most recently, he played in 20 games with the Red Wings in 2022-23 where he scored 6 goals and 9 points.
At 33, it is unknown if Chiasson will ever step foot on NHL ice again but one thing that is certain is that he will continue to try and earn a spot somewhere.
