The Edmonton Oilers have officially set a record with their recent success, one that will surely embarrass the storied franchises of Toronto and Montreal.

Oilers Set Record Win Streak For Canadian NHL Team With 13 Wins

The success of the Edmonton Oilers continues, as they took down the Calgary Flames last night during the battle of Alberta on Hockey Day in Canada. Last night's 3-1 win was the Oilers' 13th straight victory, which set an NHL record for wins in a row by a Canadian team, pushing them past the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, the two most storied NHL franchises in Canada.
"Oilers win 13th in a row and become first team from the Western Conference and first Canadian team to win 13.

Set franchise record with 11th consecutive game allowing two or fewer goals.

Skinner ties franchise record for goalie with 10 straight wins.

EDM is 21-3 in last 24."
This win has marked the Oilers' season as effectively turned around since their completely opposite start of the season, which saw them go on a terrible losing streak that resulted in the firing of their coach.

Players and Coach React to the Record-Setting Win By the Oilers

Oilers star Zach Hyman reacted to the record-breaking win after the game last night. Here is what he had to say about the historic moment.
"When we did the (franchise record) 10-game streak we eclipsed the Oilers, the 80s teams, now it's the old Montreal team," Edmonton forward Zach Hyman said. "When you're in the moment you just go out there and play, but I'm sure it'll be something cool to look back on [how] we now hold this streak for a Canadian team. We want to keep winning, so we'll see where it goes."
Head Coach Kris Knoblauch had some words on what this meant to the team as well, saying they haven't been focused on the numbers and streaks.
