Staios Back With A Familiar face
When Steve Staios was named the Interim General Manager of the Ottawa Senators many people noticed a common connection between him and a prominent member of the organization. Staios and new owner Andlauer have a major history together.
When Andlauer was the owner of the Hamilton Bulldogs he hired Staios as the President Of Hockey Operations and eventually General Manager in 2015. Staios held the position through the 2021-22 season. This could give him an advantage when a permanent General Manager is named.
One other name that has been mentioned as a potential replacement is Peter Chiarelli. Chiarelli has more experience as an NHL executive and could provide stability.
