According to Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman, defenceman Tyson Barrie has been given permission to seek a trade by Nashville Predators GM Barry Trotz. In the meantime, Barrie will sit out tonight's game against the New York Rangers.
While the bulk of his career was spent with the Colorado Avalanche, Barrie played parts of three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers from 2020 to 2023. Since then, he's been with Nashville the previous two seasons after being signed to a two-year deal that carries an annual cap hit of $4.5 million.
