Edmonton Oilers Looking to Bounce Back From Bad Start

The Oilers aren't off to the start they expected coming into this season. After another disappointing playoff exit last year, they definitely have high hopes for the ongoing season.
We're already 10 games in, and they've failed to find a rhythm, as you can see in their 2-7-1 record.
Yes, Connor McDavid was injured. But he missed only two games and tallied 10 points.
Something else isn't working in Edmonton's locker room.

Elliotte Friedman Confirms that the Oilers Are Thinking About Replacing Jay Woodcroft as Their Head Coach

In the latest episode of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Oilers are looking to find the problem in the team. He believes the idea of firing Jay Woodcroft has been thrown around.
Here's what he said:
"Yes, I do believe that the Oilers are starting to ask some serious questions internally. Like, what is wrong? What can we do to fix it? And has it been thrown around that maybe they might have to look for another coach? Yes, I believe it has."
Woodcroft signed a three-year deal in 2022. He was promoted from assistant coach following Dave Tippett's firing.
Since then, he has won 78 games out of the 130 he coached in Edmonton.
If the Oilers don't get back on the winning track soon, Woodcroft could be the one to pay.
