After months of rumors about where the great Patrick Kane would go the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers.
We will take a look at which of these two teams would make the most sense for Patrick Kane.
The Toronto Maple Leafs
First up is the Maple Leafs, now at the start of the summer you could have made the argument that Kane to the Leafs would make sense but now not so much.
With the additions of Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi as well as the emergence of Matthew Knies there really is not a spot in the top six for the American-born forward.
Also, Patrick Kane's agent has made it clear they still want to get paid and the Leafs are in a situation where they will be looking to shed cap and not add any more.
The Edmonton Oilers
Now the Edmonton Oilers, on the other hand, could be able to make a deal work with Kane, it would have to be the same sort of deal that Connor Brown just signed.
Which is a deal that is a low cap hit with a high number of salary bonuses.
The Oilers have always lacked scoring depth between Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, the additions of Evander Kane and now Connor Brown will look to address these issues.
However, adding a proven veteran like Kane to play somewhere in the top 9 would boost the Oilers offense once more.
The Oilers' offense led the league last season in goals scored and power play percentage, imagine just how many more goals they would score with the likes of Patrick Kane.
