Connor McDavid was recently asked about his thoughts on Auston Matthews' current scoring pace, and you won't believe what he had to say about it.

McDavid Thinks Matthews is The Guy to Hit 70 Goals in a Season

Connor McDavid is well regarded as the best all-around player in the NHL right now, so what he thinks about players around the league means a lot. He himself has been on incredible point-scoring paces in the past, and now he has commented on Auston Matthews' scoring pace.
He said that what Matthews was doing was pretty incredible and that if anyone could reach such a high-scoring total, Matthews would be the guy, saying that he is the best in the league at scoring.
"It would be amazing. He's as good as you're going to find in this league and goal-scoring wise, he's the best of the best. To think somebody might score 70 goals is mind-boggling. If anyone is going to do it, I think he is the guy."

McDavid and Matthews Go Head to Head in Accuracy Competition

Matthews' goal-scoring ability was put on display in the accuracy shooting contest, where he took on McDavid and others to see who had the best touch when it came to shooting. Despite McDavid's comments on Matthews' scoring ability, he was able to beat him out in the timing by just a few tenths of a second, going 4-for-4 in the contest.
These two players are electric to watch and are clearly both in the conversation every year for MVP. Who do you think is better this year?
