The Edmonton Oilers are on the lookout for a new starting goaltender, but it seems they might have the answer already in Olivier Rodrigue, who's been excelling with the Bakersfield Condors.

Rodrigue's Strong Season In Bakersfield

Olivier Rodrigue, a 23-year-old drafted by the Oilers in 2018, has become the top goalie in the Bakersfield Condors' lineup. In just nine games, he boasts an impressive .935 save percentage, a 2.22 goals-against average, and a 4-2-2 record.
Standing at six feet one inch and weighing 174 lbs, Rodrigue has already earned impressive awards like the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup Gold Medal in 2018 and the U20 World Junior Championship gold medal in 2020.
Oilers' General Manager Ken Holland may give Rodrigue a chance with a few starts in the NHL as Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell have struggled.
With Rodrigue performing so strongly, he could be primed to make his NHL debut during the latter half of the season to give Skinner a break between the pipes.
While he has taken a bit of time to develop, it seems like Rodrigue is primed to break out and could help backstop the Oilers to a Stanley Cup in the future.
