Connor McDavid proves doubters wrong to keep oilers season alive

The Vancouver Canucks had a golden opportunity to kick Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers out of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a win on the road in Game 6 on Saturday night.

Yet, the Oilers flipped the script. They crushed the Canucks 5-1, with McDavid waking up from his playoff slumber with a 3 assist night, silencing his doubters who were wondering where he'd been hiding in the first five games.
Edmonton came out on top with a commanding 5-1 victory, evening the conference semifinals series at three games apiece. Now, we're headed for a thrilling Game 7 showdown at Rogers Arena this Monday night.
There were also Zach Hyman's goal, making him the sixth player in Oilers' history to hit 10 goals in a single postseason.
Yet the Oilers weren't done yet. They scored four more consecutive goals, sealing the deal with the crowd belting out Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" in the background and then Kane rewarding them with a goal right after.
Leon Draisaitl, who had two assists, reached a 100 career playoff points in just 60 postseason games. He joined Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.
With this win, McDavid, Draisaitl, and the Oilers are keeping their dreams alive, aiming for a return to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2022.
Now, it's all down to Game 7, where the winner gets to face off against the Dallas Stars in the semifinals Vancouver, get ready, because it's going down at 9:00 p.m. ET.
