Today the Edmonton Oilers will reportedly make several key lineup changes ahead of their must-win game against the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Edmonton Oilers find themselves on the verge of elimination and now interim head coach Kris Knoblauch is making some changes. First up will be the goaltender as Stuart Skinner will get the start.
Stuart Skinner gets the start for Edmonton in Game 6
Stuart Skinner starts in goal with Edmonton's season on the line.
This comes after Calvin Pickard started the last game and played well but eventually allowed 3 goals in total. Then comes the complicated mess that is the forward group. Adam Henrique has been out due to injury and some sources say he will be in and that veteran Corey Perry will be sat down due to his struggles.
We'll see what develops this morning, but the belief is these are the changes for #Oilers:
Stuart Skinner starts Game 6.
Adam Henrique in for Corey Perry.
Not written in sharpie, some things to sort out this morning.
A different report from Mark Spector indicates also that Corey Perry seems to be the odd man out but that instead, it will be Sam Carrick taking his place.
It's Edmonton's turn to put the doubt in Vancouver's mind, or pack 'er in. They'll do it with Skinner in goal for Game 6, Perry possibly out, Carrick possibly in. Updates to come.
As of now this divergence in reporting has not been resolved. One thing seems certain and that is that with the season on the line forward Corey Perry will be watching from the press box. His replacement will have to find a way to get into rhythm fast and help keep the Edmonton Oilers season alive.
Puck drop is set for 8pm eastern and we will likely have our answers in warmups if they do not come before then.
