The Edmonton Oilers are in for a must-win game to send themselves to the Western Conference Finals, but now they've been linked to a top free agent this summer.
Despite their success in the playoffs, the Edmonton Oilers are still in need of some major depth this summer, and with the likes of Corey Perry ready to hit free agency, they may be looking to spend big to add to their bottom six. Now, it has officially been revealed that the Oilers are looking into a familiar name in the form of Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.
The Fourth Period went into further detail on the DeBrusk sweepstakes, revealing that the Oilers are one of the teams primed to chase the Alberta native.
If DeBrusk hits the open market as a free agent in July, several teams in need of a physical top-six forward will be calling, with suitors like the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs potentially in the mix.
Obviously the Oilers are looking to take game 7 in Vancouver and push for a Stanley Cup in 2024, but if it doesn't happen, 2025 may be the final shot with this team, and paying to get a talented winger like DeBrusk may be a good move to help them moving forward.
