The Edmonton Oilers have officially landed free-agent forward Jeff Skinner on a one year deal that has incredibly high upside for the Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers have pulled off an amazing move that brings in former 40-goal scorer Jeff Skinner on a cheap contract.
Sources say #Oilers are landing forward Jeff Skinner.
1 year x $3 million for Skinner in Edmonton.

Skinner scored 24 goals and 46 points with the Buffalo Sabres last year and GM Kevyn Adams saw enough so he bought out the remaining three years of his contract.
Skinner has played in 1006 career games scoring 357 goals and 670 points but has never made the playoffs. His two former teams, the Carolina Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres were on lengthy playoff droughts for Skinner's entire time with both teams.
Skinner will now look to make the playoffs with the Oilers and hopefully set career-high scoring totals with the Oilers on either Connor McDavid's or Leon Draisaitl's wing.
He may not be the same style player as a Zach Hyman but certainly could experience a similar benefit as Hyman as playing with elite talents help scoring totals skyrocket.
