It's been a whirlwind week for Raphael Lavoie, as he hit waivers for the third time this week. The Edmonton Oilers and GM Stan Bowman have been trying to send him to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, but it's been a challenge.

Originally a second-round pick in 2019, Lavoie was put on waivers on Sunday due to salary cap reasons. The Vegas Golden Knights quickly scooped him up, but they weren't interested in keeping him on their NHL roster and put him back on the market a day later.
Edmonton reclaimed Lavoie on Wednesday, but another team who finished ahead of the Oilers in last year's standings also threw their helmet in the ring, meaning the Oilers couldn't directly assign him to the minors. So, here we go again, with Lavoie back on the wire .
Lavoie's talent is undeniable, as he's made the AHL All-Star roster last season with 28 goals and 50 points in 66 games for the Condors, and made his NHL debut with Edmonton. This offense, the Oilers resigned him to a one year $775K deal.
Now, after all the waiver drama, fans are hoping to see him stay in the organization and continue developing, whether in the AHL or back in the NHL.
