The blockbuster trade that would solidify the Oilers as an NHL powerhouse

The trade that could be thought of as a huge win would be with another top Western Conference team to be considered a contender, the Nashville Predators. So imagine if the two were to complete a big-name player swap that could change the course of next season immediately.

Consider the Oilers trading for Juuse Saros. His presence on a new team, with a winning attitude can make a huge difference for him. He has big game talent, skill and can be counted on during high stress times to make the big play. His play can give the Oilers defense the time they need to regroup while he is able to stop the high percentage plays.

But who would Nashville want in this trade. Stuart Skinner comes to mind as a goalie who definitely has earned his way based on his play in the post-season, to be a number one guy. He showed great endurance and his ability to allow his team to play their type of game.

With the type of team the Predators have put together for this season, Skinner would fit in perfectly with his style of play. He would provide them with the stamina needed and quality goaltending. And, like Saros, maybe he can benefit from a change in scenery.

This is a highly unlikely trade scenario, as the Predators did just recently lock up Saros long-term. But considering what these two goaltenders could do for new teams really sheds a light on the type of talent that both teams have going into the new season. The Preds would get a younger goalie with talent, and the Oilers that win now goalie to complete the task of winning the Stanley Cup.
