New York Rangers forward is among the NHL's best goaltenders, and he has just shared the three names that are hardest for to block in the league.

Igor Shesterkin has been one of the most important factors in the New York Rangers' success in recent years. After a slow start to the season, the 2021-22 Vezina Trophy winner helped the team earn the 2023-24 President's Trophy. He also put up a solid fight in the Eastern Conference Finals against the eventual Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers, earning the top spot in many viewers' and analysts' eyes.
However, there are always players whose shots are just too difficult to manage, even as an elite goaltender. When asked about which player's shootout is the hardest to block, Igor Shesterkin named three players: Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Nathan McKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, and Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils.
"Well, it comes to my mind, there are a lot of players who scored on me. So, it's hard to choose only three. I'm gonna start with Crosby because he can always make different moves that are very hard to anticipate. Also, probably Hughes from New Jersey. And, probably MacKinnon because he's got a good shot."
All three players are dangerous goal-scorers in their own right. Sidney Crosby has 19 years in the league with his least productive season recording 37 goals, more than many NHLers ever post in their best. Nathan MacKinnon has just come off his second consecutive point PR season, racking in 51 goals and 140 points in 82 games. Jack Hughes is the most surprising name, provided he has the least experience in the league. However, with 74 total points in 62 games for the 2023-24 regular season, he is a major force to be reckoned with. Hopefully, revealing this information will not give other players in the NHL a clue on how to get their shots past Igor Shesterkin.
