During game three of the Stanley Cup Finals, a referee put Corey Perry in his place after sending him to the penalty box, and the veteran didn't take it well.

Perry was back in the lineup last night after being scratched for game two against the Florida Panthers. While his offensive contributions may not be on the same level as they used to be, he still brought a lot of intensity to the game.
The 39-year-old veteran was involved in an altercation with a referee that's currently going viral on social media.
After being sent to the penalty box for a minor penalty in the final minutes of the second period, Perry was visibly frustrated and lashed out at the referee Steve Kozari.
The Oilers' forward shouted at the referee from the bench, and Kozari told him to sit down, but he had already activated his mic to announce the call.
Everyone heard Kozari ordering Perry to sit down, turning the whole situation into a memorable moment.
Here's how it went down:
"Steve Kozari tells Corey Perry to sit down, and Perry obliges, albeit with some added foul language."

In Edmonton, Kozari isn't the most appreciated official. He has made many questionable calls against the Oilers in his career.
When the NHL announced he would be working during the Finals, many fans weren't happy and shared their frustration on X:
"There is no reason, no reason at all the NHL should've picked Kozari. He's shown clear bias vs. Edmonton, and there's a history of issues there. Simplest choice is just to select a different ref, and somehow they fuck up. NHL proving why it remains the worst ran league."

Perry, in 15 playoff games with the Oilers, scored only an assist in his 5th career run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Lashing out at the referee could be associated with his own dissatisfaction with his contributions to the team.
Do you think Corey Perry deserved to be put in his place by the referee?
