The Edmonton Oilers were moments away from the Stanley Cup in 2024, and after falling short, they've clearly become motivated to go one step further next season. In free agency thus far, the team have made some big splashes, but it's two specific moves that have now become even more intriguing for this team, as Jeff Skinner and Adam Henrique reportedly shunned other offers for Edmonton.
At this point it's unclear whether or not the offers were of similar financial value, but given the Oilers post-season success and the chance to play alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, it's easy to see why they made the choices that they did. While Edmonton still have some work to do to get salary cap compliant and fill out their roster, things are looking great north of the border, with the team now in prime position to get the superstar duo their first Stanley Cup together.
