Keith Tkachuk seen in tears witnessing his son lift the Stanley Cup

Watching his son, Matthew Tkachuk, win the family's first Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers brought a wave of emotions.

Keith, along with his wife Chantal Oster and their other son, Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk, celebrated from the stands along with the jubilant crowd.

The Panthers clinched their maiden championship with a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. It was a full circle moment for the city, as a decade ago, hockey was an afterthought, with players handing out tickets at a mall to anyone with a state drivers license.

Now, Florida is officially a hockey hotbed, as fans finally got to celebrate what they had to watch their neighbors Tampa Bay Lightning do three times before, and twice in ten months from September 2020 to July 2021.

Keith, now a St Louis Blues scout, a two-time All-Star with 538 career goals over his 18 NHL seasons, but never got his hands on the trophy, was overcome with pride. He even raised the cup himself.

Brady is the captain in Ottawa and also wore the C for team USA at the World Championships this year. He's never come close to a Cup, but now has more inspiration than ever.

The tears soon turned to smiles as Keith and his family beamed with joy, soaking in the historic moment.

The smiles grew even wider as they watched Matthew take his victory lap around the ice with the Stanley Cup. It's going to be a party for days in south beach.
