With Arvidsson out and his cap hit going on LTIR, the Kings have some money to play around with. There's the possibility that the club just waits things out and rolls with what they have until Arvidsson returns, but they could also look elsewhere for secondary scoring help.
One solution is to recall a younger guy from the AHL, such as Turcotte or Kaliyev, but a more intriguing option would be to look outside the organization.
While some would think trade, there's still lots of talent on the free agent market, and one name specifically comes to mind. Perhaps if the Kings want to add some cheap scoring depth in the interim, they should look into signing Phil Kessel to a league-minimum contract. Kessel is fresh off a Stanley Cup win with Vegas and has expressed his desire to continue playing.
