Minnesota Wild fans got an unexpected jolt of bad news today as it was revealed that Wild general manager Bill Guerin has been under investigation for verbal abuse at the workplace.

The Wild GM has apparently been under investigation for the past couple of weeks after a team employee accused him of verbal abuse in the workplace. The matter appears to be have been taken seriously by the team as Guerin was not present at the board of governor's meetings due to the ongoing investigation. Michael Russo of the Athletic has the full story.
"While the investigation was proceeding, Guerin did not attend the NHL's Board of Governors meeting in Seattle nor the Wild's four-game road trip to western Canada and Seattle."

Wild Staying Quiet About Guerin Investigation, Announce He Will Still Be GM
While the team is certainly being very careful about what information they reveal about this specific case, they have made it clear that they intend to keep Guerin in his role as the team's GM. The team and the NHL were both apparently satisfied with the investigation in that it did not reveal that Guerin had committed a fireable offense.
"Two team sources indicated that the investigation into Guerin's alleged behavior was complete and the findings were delivered to upper management and ownership early this week. Wild management determined that Guerin had not committed a fireable offense, team sources said Wednesday.

Other than that, there has been very little information revealed about the case other than the individual that made the allegations. Reportedly, it was Andrew Heydt, the team's director of operations and player relations. It remains unclear what his future with the team is at this moment.
