Patrik Laine is on another level at training camp for the Montreal Canadiens and today he took a slap shot right to his goalie's head, shattering his mask.
The Montreal Canadiens' newest forward Patrik Laine has just displayed the pure power of his shot. During a particularly heated moment, Laine dialed one up and destroyed the helmet of goalie Hunter Jones.
This is not exactly something you want to joke around about regarding Laine's shot. But needless to say, Patrik Laine has been having quite the day at training camp. That was after a pretty quiet day, yesterday for Laine. But at least the Habs newest signing made his mark today at the Montreal Canadiens training camp.
Anthony Martineau from TVA Sports gave a recap of the day's activities.
"The Laine-Newhook-Dach line is more comfortable than yesterday. Longer offensive zone sequences. The three guys are finding each other better. Dach, in particular, seems in great shape. He moves well. Laine is agile and very hard to stop once he gets going, but sometimes tries to do too much and loses the puck avoiding some simple plays. Newhook is the least visible of the three."

Kirby Dach echoed the sentiment in his press conference that things were much improved today. He felt their line played with more poise and fluidity. Coach Martin St-Louis also addressed the Laine, Dach, Alex Newhook line, saying that they will need a little bit of time, but he is confident they will find their stride.
