1200-Game NHL Veteran Hints at Return to Hockey This Season
A recent move by this long-time NHL veteran strongly hints that he might make a return to the league this season.
Parise Makes First Move in Returning to NHL
Recent reports have surfaced that Zach Parise has been skating again in Minnesota, a move that indicates he is interested in coming back to play in the NHL again this season. Parise had previously decided not to attend the Islanders' training camp in order to spend some more time with his family.

Parise had told media during exit interviews last year that if he were to make a return to the NHL this season, the Islanders would be the only team he would play for. Lou Lamoriello, GM for the Islanders, also thinks that Parise's playing days are not yet over.
Teammates Also Want Parise to Make His Return to Long Island
If the urge to play hockey wasn't strong enough on his own, Parise's teammates are likely to have some influence on his future decision. Mat Barzal made a statement at the Islanders' golf tournament asking Parise to get back to New York.
«Zach, if you're watching, get back here," Mat Barzal said at golf outing.
Per @reporterchris on Thursday, Zach Parise has resumed skating, and Parise said back in April it was #Isles or nowhere.
Parise has played in 1224 career games in the NHL, recording 429 goals and 450 assists for 879 points. As his decision lags on, though, it will become more difficult for the Islanders to fit him into the lineup, due to salary cap constraints.
