Rangers rookie Matt Rempe was a major problem for the NHL a season ago, and now he's training with Georges Laraque, and it could be big trouble for the league.
The 2023/24 NHL regular season was full of incredible moments and performances, but the one player that lead headlines like no one else was New York Rangers rookie Matt Rempe. While he wasn't able to dominate on the score sheet, Rempe used his 6-foot-7 frame to make headlines night after night for his highlight reel fights, and now it's about to get worse for the rest of the league.
In a recent social media post, former enforcer Georges Laraque revealed that he was training with Rempe and Winnipeg Jets prospect Tyrel Bauer, sending a warning to the NHL in the process.
The effects of fighting so often became noticeable very quickly for Rempe, so there's a chance he'll attempt to fight a lot less often in 2024/25, but with some new techniques and aggressiveness from Laraque, it's safe to say that few players in the NHL will want to go toe-to-toe with Rempe.
